Trenton Music Makers
At Trenton Music Makers, music is a catalyst for social transformation, helping inner-city youth in Trenton, New Jersey develop not only as musicians, but also as confident leaders equipped with essential social, literacy, and life skills. I had the pleasure of collaborating with the Executive Director on the organization’s 2018, 2019, and 2020 Impact Reports. The 2020 report featured below is a standout, capturing the energy, creativity, and spirit of both the organization and the community it serves. The visual approach combines distressed color blocks, color photography and duotones, handwritten typography, and hand-rendered illustrative elements inspired by graffiti and sidewalk scribbles. Together, these elements create a playful, expressive urban aesthetic that feels authentic to the organization’s mission, its young audience, and the community it serves.
